June 4, 2016

When I crossed The Abyss Region to Beagle Point, it wasn't that difficult.  I had an easy time of finding stars within my jump range.

For the trip home, I decided to head over to Colonia then go back to the bubble.  Crossing that end of The Abyss Region was much more difficult!  I spent many minutes checking jump ranges across multiple star systems, only to find I would be in a dead end.  Route calculations had to be done multiple times to find my way through.

In this photo you'll notice that the ship is showing a lot of bare metal.  Long rang travel is hard on a ship!  It's the fuel scooping that does it; that heat from stars' atmospheres burns the paint off over time.  I also knew my ship's structure was slowly getting beat down, even though I couldn't see it.
